FROM ADOLESCENCE TO ADULTHOOD
LOCAL, TARGETED, POWERFUL
Each year, Aharai! delivers a broad and deeply integrated network of programs that shape the lives of thousands of young people across Israel.
Built as a continuum of challenge, mentorship, and opportunity, Aharai!’s model supports participants at every critical stage of transition, ensuring that each experience builds confidence, deepens commitment, and prepares them for what comes next. The impact is cumulative, and the results are measurable, strengthening not only individual lives, but families, communities, and Israeli society as a whole.
Grounded in local leadership and tailored to the unique needs of each community, Aharai! meets young people where they are, often reaching those who have never joined, or never imagined joining, a traditional youth movement. It is this rare ability to combine national reach with personal investment that makes Aharai!’s model so powerful.
WHO AHARAI! SERVES
At Aharai!, diversity is not an initiative. It is the bedrock of the organization and the source of its strength. By designing programs around the unique cultures, values, and realities of each community, Aharai! reaches young people across every sector of Israeli society, while remaining deeply committed to the communities where help is needed most. For Aharai!, that responsibility begins in Israel’s development towns, low-income communities, absorption centers, and at-risk environments, places where talent is abundant, but opportunity is too often out of reach.
Every year, thousands of young people from Israel’s sociogeographic peripheries, including development towns, absorption centers, and youth shelters, find mentorship, purpose, and opportunity through Aharai!.
Aharai! partners with more than 80 yeshivas and 100 rabbis and community leaders across the Haredi spectrum (Litvish, Hasidic, Sephardi).
Teens from every background come to Aharai! to build mental resilience, physical readiness, and technical skills for meaningful military and professional service.
Hundreds of exceptional youth from underrepresented communities and beyond enter advanced leadership and innovation tracks each year.
More than 500 Arab youths participate annually. Aharai! is active in 28 Arab municipalities and runs 31 dedicated groups designed to meet the unique needs of Arab youth and their communities.
AHARAI!’S THEORY OF CHANGE
Aharai! develops leadership through action, placing participants in physically and socially demanding environments where they must take responsibility and work as a team. This approach builds real-world capability, not just confidence. Aharai! believes that practical preparation is what transforms potential into opportunity and ensures that Israel’s next generation of innovators reflects the full diversity of its society.
Aharai! meets youth where they are, creating customized curricula for Arab, Haredi, and other unique communities.
Instructors and mentors come from the same communities as the teens they guide, building trust, credibility, and lasting connection.
Growth happens through challenge, participation, and shared responsibility, not theory alone.
Aharai! nurtures trust, mutual understanding, and a shared sense of responsibility between diverse groups by bringing them together to learn, serve, and lead side by side.
LOCAL LEADERSHIP
Aharai! is powered by leaders who know the journey because they have lived it. Year after year, Aharai! alumni return as instructors, coordinators, and directors committed to guiding the next generation with the same mentorship that once shaped their own lives. This leadership pipeline allows Aharai! to reach diverse communities with trust, cultural relevance, and lasting impact.
At the heart of Aharai!’s model are mentors who have faced and overcome many of the same challenges as the young people they guide. Their lived experience provides more than inspiration; it offers hard-earned perspective, practical wisdom, and proof of what is possible. Combined with full-time veteran staff and a powerful alumni network, this cycle of mentorship is what makes Aharai!’s work so deeply felt in every community it serves.
